Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester U.K.

R&B Singer Chris Brown arrested at Salford’s Lowry Hotel on Thursday, May 15th and later charged with alleged assault. According to TMZ, Brown, 36, attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila before allegedly roughing the producer up. Judge Joanne Hirst ruled Chris Brown shall remain in custody until next court date on the 13th of June.

Who is Abe Diaw?

Abe Diaw is a producer based in Italy. Born as Abraham Diaw, he’s also known for managing PR for several night clubs. Outside working with new and upcoming artists through his own music label, Onegodmusic, the allegations made against Chris Brown seems to be the only headlining news regarding the producer. Diaw has since deactivated his social media accounts upon his name being released to the public.

On February 19, 2023. Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle the TAPE nightclub. According to documents obtained by Hollywood Life, Diaw alleges that Brown continued to stomp Diaw repeatedly resulting in him needing medical attention. In the report, documents obtained by People, state that Diaw experienced blows to the head leaving him unconscious causing permanent damage.

In October 2023, Abraham filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown. In the civil suit, Diaw seeks $16 million in damages for physical injuries and financial losses due to the alleged incident.

Was Chris Brown Arrested?

To strike part of Diaw’s allegations, Chris Brown’s tour promoter filed a motion stating they ignored the controversial past of Chris Brown and fostered an environment that triggered the artist. However, despite the attempt, the motion was denied in April 2024, according to Radar Online.

Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester on Thursday May 15th on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in the custody of Metropolitan Police. The following day, Brown appeared in Manchester Magistrates Court facing one count of grievous bodily harm and ordered to be held until his next hearing in London on June 13th.

Unfortunately for fans, this may place a pause on the artists future endeavors. Brown was set to go on his Breezy Bowl XX Tour in celebration of 20 years in the music industry. While the tour was set to begin on June 8th, his court makes committing to that date impossible.
